Going off on a tangent, but I had some blood tests done in December as part of an introductory check up at my new doctors. The Friday before Christmas, they sent me a letter saying they needed to speak to me about the results in person. Obviously, they were then closed for the holidays so I had to wait to make the appointment, worrying about what they'd found. Anyway, yesterday was the day, I took the morning off work and went back to see them. The nurse tells me I have slightly high cholesteral, but it may just be normal for me since they haven't got a history to compare with, the chance of it leading to any problems is so low there's no need to do anything about it, and they really shouldn't have bothered calling me in over it. This is an NHS in crisis...
