Totally agree Waco, great stuff to watch again. I was impressed by MGP over the years and again on these replays especially his brace at Old Trafford - loved the look on Scholes' face, but had forgotten that 7-1 stuffing of West Ham which made me smile. I'd also forgotten we used to have a player called Hignett!

Up the Rovers memories!

I was watching the ‘92-‘93 club show; all the excitement when King Kenny arrived on the scene. Ticket sales & merchandise through the roof, etc. Sure, he got Shearer, & he knew what he was doing, but sometimes, you go out & hire a “name” guy, to inject excitement back into the club.

Watching ManU/Rovers from 2005; what a show by Pedersen! Defending was stellar that day by the whole club, again, Freidel could be MotM almost every game.

What is the general feeling towards Mark Hughes’ term as Rovers manager? Better than Big Sam, maybe not as favorable as Souness?

I liked Hughes and his team more than Souness. If he’d inherited Duff, Dunn and a fully fit Jansen I think he could have taken us top 4. Lets face it, they were both great for us though.

Greetings All,

Anyone else following this Rovers Legend competition on Facebook? Today we are asked to choose between A. Shearer and Dougie! Bloody cheek! Of course Shearer will win as few on there even saw my namesake play, but when you were a one-club man for over 500 games at the top level for 16 years or more, were born a mile away, have a building named after you, were a club host for years and still live 3 miles away, I'd say that's a legend!

Oldtimers Rule!

Trust me, Duggywerefab!!

In case you want to get in on the voting for Bryan action...

Currently standing at:
Alan Shearer 76.8%

For those enjoying the old matches Rovers are putting online:
Highlights of us beating Manure 4-1.
Worth watching just for Ferdinand's reaction when he forgets how to defend.
Edit: Ooh facebook videos embed now with zero effort. Nice.

All, I expected Shearer to win that legend vote over BD but I will only change my vote when I see the Alan Shearer Stand going up at Ewood! :D

Interestingly whenever I see Shearer introduced or talked about it's usually along the lines of "Former Newcastle and England....", rarely if ever "former Blackburn, Newcastle etc" Did he win much/owt with the Magpies? Can't remember. Newcastle used to be one of those clubs where players went to get worse, like Everton. AS didn't get worse but he could have done so much better elsewhere even if not with us.

Up the Rovers whenever we restart!

No, he didn't win any trophies at Newcastle. They got to the FA Cup final a couple of times.

No Ethiaa,I didn't know though I don't recall too much Tyneside glory since the 1970s! "Come back Malcolm, all is forgiven".

I could have looked it up but I thought someone on here would be much quicker than me at that anyway.

Still standing by my legend opinion too! Have a nice weekend everyone if you can with no new footy - or cricket!

Duggy
