Newcastle fans are doing their nut. Some saying Rovers have got Arma on the cheap. Some saying he should stay with Newcastle.
The boy wants game time and who can blame him. Too many top teams want proven players, not willing to let youth have a go.

Was nice to see two young english players start in the Charity Shield, we need that for our national team.

He has the potential to be one of those amazingly expensive flops a low to bottom level PL team spend their new found millions on.

Relative to the size of 'normal' price tags?

This one's pretty big, but then so is the tree. You'd hardly see a smaller one.

That tree may well be bigger than the Romans.

Apparently we’re looking at Southampton 21 year old Michael Obafemi as a replacement. Looking through comments on this SaintsWeb thread seem to go from glowingly positive on the first page to disappointingly negative on the last. Questions are raised about his physical fitness and attitude.

He may be worth a risk, considering we have Brereton Diaz, Gallagher, McBride, Chapman and Vale who could also step up in that role, but I’m not sure we should move on anything other than a loan with an option to buy.

PL regulations apparently prevent a swap deal, but I suppose it’s possible we have a gentleman’s agreement for a reduced fee?

Armstrong signs for Southampton for a ‘significant undisclosed fee.’

He’ll be missed, but if that’s anywhere near the £15 million that’s being whispered about then that’s not bad for a player in the last year of his contract, even with the 5-6 million or so that Newcastle are rumoured to get from the sale.

If we do pursue Obafemi then what’s the bet that’ll be for a fee around £0 as a way of avoiding paying Newcastle any more than we have to?
