Wanted to move my sky to my new home end of month, £60 moving fee for them to set it up, if i want HD, its another £49, so £109!!

ive been with them for years, however if i was to get my missus to get the same with a sky hd box as a new customer, it'd be £79!

Point that out to them, demand they do it for free else you'll go to Virgin. They really love virgin at Sky so bound to offer something cheaper.

Bunch of bastards Sky. As with most businesses, new customers bring more value. If they won't do it free, just get the missus to sign up and flog the spare box on ebay - will go towards paying the fee off.

Just called them now, managed to get installation at £30 & a HD box for £29 so £59 quid!

If you'd said you were just cancelling they might have just given it you for free. Seem to remember my Dad getting about 6 months free out of sky by doing that once after they kept ringing each month when it was expiring, he said "nah don't watch it so cancelling" and they said "why don't you try another month for free and see after that?" etc

can anyone suggest a good 'line & broadband' deal to get then?

Unless you're going cable, any line rental or broadband that requires a phone line will still mean you have to fork out the £125 to BT regardless.

Yep - Virgin have a deal at the moment though where you can get line, installation, broadband and basic TV (freeview) for £18 per month with a £50 cashback deal.
