I could be wrong about the kickoff time because America.

Really need a win to give the squad some confidence. Even a draw would be helpful.

One tough match this.
They thrashed us at Deepdale.
North End are far better than their league position suggests
Rover are bang out of form.
Might be another miserable afternoon.

KO is at 12:00 due to a request from Lancashire Police with 7,500 Preston fans attending.

These next 2 homes games mirror the away fixtures back to back in November when we were well and truly embarrassed by local rivals. Mowbray has been talking about making changes and is being critical of individuals but I'm hoping he doesn't chop and change too much. Whatever the solution to our problem is defensively I don't think the answer is Williams at centre back or left back, he was also complete shite at Preston earlier in the season.

Nor do I think dropping Raya makes sense, I think some of his hesitation on crosses potentially stems from having a very non-combative pairing ahead of him currently. Rotherham targeted the very obvious weakness of our inability to deal with aerial balls into our box, no doubt Preston and Wigan certainly will look to do the same. Hopefully they've spent this week working on this in training.

We are missing Darrah massively, he is/was immense as part of our great run in Jan.

Not worth dropping Raya, will have a negative impact. Mulgrew, the proper CB needs to step up as well as Bell and not let a long ball bounce or hesitate. Hit it in to row z and argue about it later.

Very slim possibility we may see some U23 players come through in the coming weeks.

I won't be sorry to see that. The energy Travis has brought to the side (after he was almost sent out on loan) and the improvement he has shown since playing regularly will hopefully encourage Mowbray to bring more of the youth team on.

last thing you need when you are struggling is to play the divisions form team. Preston have this year scored four at QPR, three at Millwall, two at Stoke and an impressive 3-1 win at home to Norwich. Our only hope is their good run of results came to an end last week by failing to beat Bristol City. Preston would have been in the play offs places if they had not such a bad start to the season. Well thats enough of bigging up the locals...Rovers dont have much different to offer in personnel terms. It would be nice to see Chapman and Davenport in contention but sadly not just yet. Brereton and Nuttall continue to show how good goal scorers they are in the U23s. Honestly without anything refreshing to the team it looks pretty much more of the same. Go behind early and spend the rest of the game trying to equalise. If that happens then be ready for Preston to score again soon after. its almost predictable... however the last team that came to Rovers with an impressive list of recent results was Hull City.

If we are playing a back 3 like that then I have no idea why you wouldn’t have Bell as your left wing back.

Could be a back 4 of Williams, Mulgrew, Nyambe and Bennett.

I think I’d expect us to line up as:

—————————Raya
Bennett Nyambe Mulgrew Williams
Reed Evans Smallwood Armstrong
—————————Dack
————————Graham

Although equally wouldn’t be surprised if it’s some dodgy back 3 with wing backs.

I guess they XI has plenty of flexibility.

Good start

Williams beaten for pace. If only we had a quicker left back...
