Euro Super League
Euro Super League
I appear to be in a minority here by not giving a single shit if the likes or Manure and Liverpool want to go off and play their mates and get chucked out of their current league as a result. Obviously, they want to play their mates and NOT get chucked out of their league but good luck with that.
It all just looks like a massive negotiating tactic to me given the timing of the statement just after the changes to the CL were announced. But honestly, I really couldn't care less what they do. Stay, go, whatever. Perhaps I just enjoy watching UEFA and the PL squirm now they are getting their arms twisted in the way they have done to everyone else for so long.

Re: Euro Super League
It's been coming for ages. And fans in England need to get over thinking that they're the most important fans for these clubs: there are an awful lot more Chinese Man U fans than English ones....
Re: Euro Super League
Which I guess is why it is hard to care that much personally. There is already such an insurmountable chasm between the few and the rest domestically that this will only formalise it. It also brings the danger of making those few rather irrelevant but that really doesn't bother me. It might actually serve to level things out a bit domestically - but while Sky & the PL continue in their current vein, I doubt it. You really do reap what you sow sometimes

Re: Euro Super League
If they replace those teams with the corresponding number from the championship, then this season could have been a fantastic opportunity to get promoted.

Also, there was an equal furore over the PL being created.
Re: Euro Super League
There was although the differences to this are obvious despite one of the largest driving factors being the same. I didn't give a shit about that either.
Re: Euro Super League
If they're desperate to play with their mates in Europe, I'd add that on as the next league up from the main league of each major european footballing nation. 3 clubs from each major European league initially. PL Winner and runner up get automatic promotion, 3-6 get to playoff to join them, and the same in the other nations. You mess up in the ESL, you're relegated back down to your own domestic league and replaced. Going forward, the winners are promoted and one is relegated back down each year.
Re: Euro Super League
No guarantees of revenue there though. They want the risk removed entirely.

Re: Euro Super League
Funny innit. Almost as funny as those who are getting called out for being against the kill the bill protests but who protested here...
Imagine if they protested about stuff that actually mattered?

I'd be happy if they just voted for people who don't give billions of our money to their mates. But we may be straying from the point.

That's not a problem. That's an opportunity for atypical politicians.
