Probably.

Some poor refereeing in our favour though; was a pen for that foul by Hedges jus before BBD's goal, and Wharton was just offside....

Rough with the smooth and all that. Who put this bloody world cup in the middle of our season when it's actually quite an interesting one for once?

Without seeing one of the VAR replays with the lines on the pitch, I don't think it's certain Wharton was offside. From the best angle available on Sky's footage, he's goalside of the defenders in the box, but at least level with the two man wall before the kick is taken - if he did move forward a split second too soon it's because the Sunderland defender pushed him anyway. But it's one of those where the linesman would have a perfect view and an easy decision to make if it was offside. I think Sunderland just defended poorly, with the wall in the wrong place and the defender in the middle actually helping Wharton getting on the end of the cross. :D

A rare bit of luck with the penalty shout though, although I can see how the ref could have thought the ball had been nicked away.

Feel like we've had not quite the share of good fortune on decisions over the last few seasons so nice to see one go our way, although oddly with a Prem referee and not the usual Gavin Ward type incompetence.

Anyway, top of the league and all that with the most wins :hyper:
