yeah this IS a shame. heard about it on the radio this morning.

Brokeback Mountain was very good. I was looking forward to the new Batman film too.

Plus he was in the middle of filming Terry Gilliams new film 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus', which is probably semi permanently on hold now.

Shame. I always look forward to Gilliams stuff and he's not had a lot of luck in the last ten years with his films.

As to it being his finest role, I'd give that to Monsters Ball. He's ace in that.

He was okay in Brokeback Mountain.

Not my favourite actor in the world I have to say, but sad none the less.

I got it confirmed from a source involved in Post-Production on THE DARK KNIGHT. Heath's post work was complete. He had indeed finished it, as to not interfere with the production of the film he was doing with Gilliam

I wonder if he does in the movie, or gets captured. Obviously could cause problems for future Batman movies involving the Joker!
